Builders have found an issue when assembling the GM LS engines timing sets. Improper installation of the camshaft sprockets or phasers can damage or push the locating pin back into the camshaft during installation. As a result Melling has released the CSIT-LS installation tool which is designed to aid in the installation of both the camshaft and the camshaft sprocket or phaser. The CSIT-LS can be used with both single bolt and 3-bolt cams. The CSIT-LS installation tool is made from alloyed tool steel and heat treated for durability.
