This mild camshaft gained 54 HP and 25 TQ at the flywheel on on Texas Speed's in-house SuperFlow 902 engine dyno using an otherwise stock 5.3L L83 engine! The L83 "Low Lift" camshafts use new proprietary TSP lobe profiles that are designed to utilize beehives valve springs, making them an affordable package that is also easy on valvetrain components! This is a great performance camshaft for daily drivers that has a slight lope at idle. It is a great choice for truck/SUV applications with stock torque converters and an ideal upgrade when doing DOD/AFM deletes. The Stage 1 will not lose any power in the lower RPMs like the larger camshafts will, but still makes great gains in power over the stock camshaft. This camshaft can also be used in 2019-later L84 and L82 engines, but will require a different VVT limiter block than the one included in the kit options on this listing.
NOTE: The Stage 1 L83 camshaft requires a DOD/AFM lifter delete, and a VVT Phaser limiter block is necessary to maintain proper piston to valve clearance.

Camshaft Only: Includes only the Texas Speed L83 Stage 1 Low Lift Camshaft by itself (please remember a valve spring upgrade and a phaser limiter are necessary for installation).
Camshaft with Spring Kit: Includes Texas Speed L83 Stage 1 LL Camshaft, TSP .585" Beehive Valve Springs, and Valve Seals with integrated Spring Seats. These springs reuse your factory retainers and locks.
Pushrod Upgrade: Highly recommended when installing an aftermarket camshaft and springs. Our Gen V pushrod kit includes beefy 3/8" diameter, 7.850" long chromoly pushrods (brand may vary based on availability).
Phaser Limiter Option: Includes a 0* Phaser limiter block for L83/L86. We have made this option for people who already have a tool from previous camshaft installations.
Phaser Limiter with Tool Kit Option: Includes 0* Phaser Limiter block for L83/L86, plus the necessary tool kit required to install the phaser limiter.
