We now always include a replacement oil pump as part of the service.
Note:
In some cases-particularly where services have been missed, oil is heavily contaminated, or
there's significant sludge buildup-the sump may also need to be dropped and cleaned to prevent
blockage of the oil pickup strainer and low oil pressure. While rare, this is required in extreme cases.
Optional Add-Ons:
- Sump Drop/Clean (standard vehicles): $400
- Sump Drop/Clean (Adventra & Crewman 4WD): $800 (due to front diff and cradle removal)
Note:
In very rare, extreme cases, the engine may be beyond repair due to sludge or may require multiple sump cleans. Given the age of these engines, we recommend replacing the VVT (Variable Valve Timing) gears and cleaning the sump.
- VVT Gears: $190 each (some engines have 2, others have 4)
- Replacing VVT gears helps prevent startup rattle caused by oil pressure delay. This rattle may
occur if gears are not replaced.

Note:

Gas engines (Captiva, Rodeo, Adventra, and Colorado V6) incur a $110 surcharge due to additional labour time.

There is a warranty on the parts and installation, please note there is not a startup rattle warranty. Replacing VVT gears and dropping and cleaning the sump will help eliminate oil pressure issues on startup however sometimes this can be caused by sludge or damaged bearings.
