🏁 Audi SQ5 TDI Transformation: Big Gains and Smoother Power

David’s Audi SQ5 TDI recently rolled into the shop with one mission: fix a problematic emissions system and unlock hidden performance with a custom ECU and TCU calibration.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing at the start. Despite our initial tuning passes, the gains just weren’t where we knew they could be. So, we dug deeper—adjusting injection timing and reworking the boost curves to find the sweet spot of power and efficiency.

And the results speak for themselves:

Torque

• Before: 670.9 Nm @ ~100 RPM

• After: 769.0 Nm @ ~100 RPM

• Gain: +98.1 Nm

Power

• Before: 193.6 kW @ ~138 RPM

• After: 222.6 kW @ ~136 RPM

• Gain: +29.0 kW

This SQ5 now delivers stronger acceleration, more midrange pull, and improved throttle response—all while maintaining excellent fuel economy for daily driving.
