W204 C63 AMG M156 Gets a Revhigh ECU & TCU Tune

Jason's Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG W204 came to Revhigh after a major engine refresh and some performance upgrades.

Powered by the legendary M156 6.3L V8, the car had received reconditioned cylinder heads, updated head bolts, extractors and a set of performance camshafts. However, after having the car tuned elsewhere, Jason wasn't completely happy with how it was performing.
Starting With a Dyno Test
We put the C63 on the dyno to establish exactly where the car was at.
The initial results were interesting:
328kW — tuned ECU
332kW — completely stock ECU
The stock ECU actually produced slightly more power than the existing tune, showing that there was plenty of room for improvement.
The Revhigh Tune
Rather than simply adjusting the existing calibration, we tuned both the ECU and TCU to properly suit the new camshafts and exhaust package.
This allowed us to optimise the engine calibration while ensuring the transmission was working correctly with the new setup.

The final result:
🔥 358kW at the wheels
That's a 30kW gain over the original tuned setup and a significant improvement over where the car started.
The Result
The M156 is already an impressive naturally aspirated V8, but modifications such as camshafts and exhaust components require the calibration to be properly matched to the hardware.
This C63 now has a tune developed around its actual combination of parts rather than a generic setup.
Another M156 dialled in and ready to perform.
