Few cars command respect like the Mercedes-Benz C63 W204 Black Series. With its hand-built 6.3L M156 V8 and wide-body aggression, it’s one of AMG’s most iconic creations. But even legends can be taken further with the right tuning and hardware.
This Black Series came in for a complete exhaust upgrade and custom calibration — and the transformation was huge.
We installed a full downpipe system, replacing everything from the headers to the rear mufflers. The benefits included:

💻 Tuning the Bosch ME9: When Standard Methods Aren’t Enough
The Bosch ME9 ECU in the C63 can be extremely sensitive — especially when the exhaust is changed. On this vehicle, traditional tuning approaches didn’t allow proper exhaust coding adjustments.
So we went all the way down to the core. We directly wrote the binary to correct the exhaust logic and ensure the ECU communicated properly with the new hardware. This ensured:
No exhaust-related errors
Stable AFR targets
Clean throttle behavior
Proper timing control

After the full downpipes and calibration, this AMG gained:

That’s an impressive increase for a naturally aspirated M156 V8. On the road, the difference is immediate:

More responsive throttle
Smoother power curve
And best of all… It now produces a very classy, refined burble on overrun — maintaining AMG character while adding a touch of aggression.
