Luca’s LFX has officially graduated into serious performance territory — now pushing over 230 kW at the wheels after a full Stage 4 build and custom dyno calibration. 😎
This platform continues to impress us, and Luca’s build shows exactly what the LFX engine is capable of with the right combination of hardware, machining, and tuning refinement.

Complete Modification List
Here’s everything that went into this Stage 4 LFX transformation:
✔ XFORCE 2.5" Catback Exhaust
✔ Revhigh Downpipe with Resonator + Air Divider (improved scavenging + cleaner exhaust velocity)
✔ Purge Solenoid
✔ Race Timing Chains
✔ Titanium VVT Bolts
✔ 214/214R Custom Race Cams
✔ Flow-Benched, Ported LFX Cylinder Heads
✔ Titanium Retainers & High-Lift Valve Springs
✔ Upgraded Head Bolts
✔ VCM OTR Intake
✔ Ported Intake Manifold + Runner Mod
✔ 1 Step Colder Spark Plugs

Every component played a role, but the ported heads + runner mod + custom cams were the real power multipliers, helping the engine breathe efficiently all the way to the top end while keeping torque strong down low.

Understanding the Gains
A factory LFX typically produces around 170 kW at the wheels in completely stock form. With a small cam upgrade alone, we usually extract somewhere in the 210–220 kW range safely and reliably.
However, Luca’s build pushed beyond expectations thanks to a comprehensive approach that maximised airflow and efficiency across the entire RPM band. The major standout?👉 A huge increase in low-end torque, attributed to the ported intake runners and flow-bench-tested cylinder heads — proving again how critical airflow optimisation is in naturally aspirated performance engines.

Dyno Comparison: Before vs After
Before Tune
Torque: 374.2 Nm @ 152
Power: 175.3 kW @ 226
After Tune
Torque: 452.9 Nm @ 104
Power: 235.7 kW @ 218
The gains speak for themselves — +80 Nm of torque and +60 kW at the wheels, with significantly improved mid-range response, cleaner top-end airflow, and sharper throttle behaviour.
Final Thoughts
This build highlights what a properly executed NA package can achieve on the LFX platform. By combining headwork, camshaft engineering, precise machining, and calibration, we unlock reliable, repeatable gains that transform how the vehicle delivers power.
If you're considering a naturally aspirated build or want to push your LFX further, a fully prepped Stage 4 package like Luca’s is the perfect benchmark.
