Audi SQ5 Carbon Cleaning & Custom Dyno Tune – Huge Gains!

Cos’s Audi SQ5 came in for a much-needed walnut blast, manifold clean, and a custom dyno tune for both the ECU and TCU. These 3.0L TDI engines are known for excessive carbon buildup, even at relatively low kilometers. This buildup can choke airflow, reduce efficiency, and rob power, leading to sluggish performance and higher fuel consumption.
The Process: Unlocking Hidden Performance
We started with a walnut blast and intake manifold cleaning, removing years of carbon deposits that had coated the intake valves. This instantly improved airflow, combustion efficiency, and responsiveness.
Then, we performed a custom dyno tune, refining fuel mapping and boost control to maximize power and torque while maintaining reliability. The TCU (transmission control unit) was also tuned for sharper shifts and improved torque management, making the power more usable on the road.
Dyno Results: Before vs. After
The difference was night and day! Here’s how the numbers stacked up:
✅ Before: 218.4kW & 680.8Nm ✅ After: 249.4kW & 790.4Nm
That’s a huge gain of 31kW and 110Nm, bringing this SQ5 back to life with stronger low-end torque and more power across the rev range. The increased throttle response and refined transmission shifts make for a completely transformed driving experience.
