There’s something magical about a Holden VF SS. The raw Aussie muscle, the deep V8 rumble, and the way it puts down power like it’s born to dominate the open road. But as every enthusiast knows – good is never good enough,. This 2015 Holden VF SS came to us ready for transformation, and we were more than happy to oblige.

1. 225/236@114 LSA cam package With headers and high flow 2.5” Catback
High-flow downpipes are often underestimated, but they play a massive role in how an engine performs. By reducing exhaust back pressure and improving gas flow, these pipes allow the V8 to exhale more efficiently. The result? Faster spool, better throttle response, and the foundation for more power when tuning.Bonus: They also deepen the exhaust note, giving the car a throatier, more aggressive sound.

2. Blackwell heads
One of the biggest changes came from fitting Blackwell performance cylinder heads. Known for their precision CNC porting, improved airflow, and robust construction, these heads allow the LS3 to breathe deeper and make more power across the rev range. Paired with our tuning, they not only add horsepower but also enhance torque and throttle response. This is a serious performance upgrade for anyone chasing both street drivability and track capability.

3. ECU & TCU Tuning – Precision on Dyno and Street
Power is nothing without control. We gave this VF SS a full custom tune for both the ECU (Engine Control Unit) and TCU (Transmission Control Unit).
ECU Tuning: Adjusting fuel maps, ignition timing, and air-fuel ratios to maximise performance and efficiency.
TCU Tuning: Refining shift points, firmness, and logic so the 6-speed automatic works in harmony with the engine’s newfound grunt.
By tuning both on the dyno and out on the street, we ensured real-world drivability matches the numbers on paper. This isn’t just about peak horsepower – it’s about usable, reliable performance every time you drive.



4. The Result – A Sharper, Meaner VF SS
Post-upgrade, this Holden delivers stronger acceleration, cleaner power delivery, and a soundtrack worthy of its muscle-car heritage. It’s equally happy cruising calmly or roaring to life when you want excitement.

Max Torque: 622 Nm @ 182 km/h
Max Power: 334.9 kW @ 212 km/h

Final Thoughts:
The VF SS might be one of the last true Aussie V8 icons, but with the right upgrades, it can still compete with modern performance machines. Downpipes, a switchable crackle tune, and precision ECU/TCU tuning have taken this car from great to unforgettable.
