Renault Megane RS Trophy Edition Track Car Tune – More Power, Better Response & Faster Lap Times

Ben is back with another serious track weapon, this time bringing in his Renault Megane RS Trophy Edition for a full tuning and optimisation package at REVHIGH.

The goal for this build was simple — improve drivability, sharpen throttle response, and maximise performance on track while maintaining reliability lap after lap.

Identifying the Issues

During initial dyno testing and data analysis, we identified a noticeable torque dip immediately after wide open throttle (WOT), along with areas where the fueling and factory limiters were holding the car back from delivering consistent performance.

These issues can have a major impact on track driving, especially when exiting corners and trying to maintain smooth power delivery throughout the rev range.

The Tuning Process

Our calibration process focused on:

• Smoothing out the torque curve

• Correcting fueling for safer and more consistent performance

• Increasing factory limiters

• Improving throttle response and overall drivability

• Optimising the powerband for track use

The end result is a much sharper and more responsive setup that feels significantly stronger across the entire rev range.

Those are substantial gains for the Megane RS platform and completely transform how the car performs both on track and on the street.

Track Performance Improvements

Beyond the dyno numbers, the biggest improvement is how usable the power delivery now feels. With the torque dip eliminated and response significantly improved, the car now accelerates harder and more consistently out of corners.

Based on the improvements made, this setup should comfortably shave around 5 seconds per lap — a huge gain for any track-focused build.
