Saving the LFW: A 3.0L Holden Evoke Rescued and Reborn

Every car has a story, and this Holden 3.0L LFW V6 Evoke rolled into our shop with more than a few chapters of neglect. What looked like a basic tune-up job quickly turned into a rescue mission—and we’re glad it made it in when it did.

At first glance, the issues were subtle. But once we dug in, it was clear: this engine was struggling. Partially blocked catalytic converters, a clogged PCV, a purge solenoid that had given up entirely, and excessive oil consumption—this V6 was crying out for help.

Rather than patch the problems, we went for a full solution. Here's what we did:

✅ Revhigh Downpipe with Resonator – The perfect balance of performance and sound, cutting out the rasp while opening up airflow.

✅ VCM Cold Air Intake – Complete with side panel and fascias, ensuring cooler air and stronger response.

✅ Custom ECU & TCU Tuning – Unlocking more power and extending transmission life by correcting shift patterns and power delivery.

✅ New PCV & Purge Solenoid – Back to breathing properly and fueling efficiently.

The results? A significant performance gain—+35kW and +60NM at the wheels. But more importantly, we helped bring this daily driver back to life with power, reliability, and peace of mind.
