2017 Mazda CX-7 Diesel – From Questionable Tune to Proper Performance

This 2017 Mazda CX-7 Diesel came to us for our tuning special.
The vehicle had previously been tuned elsewhere, but after a full inspection and initial assessment, we quickly identified several issues within the existing calibration.
As we always say — not all tunes are created equal.
The Problem
While the vehicle had already been modified and tuned, the previous setup showed:
Inconsistent torque delivery
Suboptimal fuel and boost calibration
Areas where the engine wasn’t operating as efficiently or safely as it should
On diesel platforms, improper tuning doesn’t just affect performance — it can affect long-term reliability, EGT control, and component lifespan.
So we stripped it back and did it properly.
What We Carried Out
To ensure the vehicle performed safely and efficiently, we completed the following:

Injector Seal Replacement
Walnut Blast Carbon Clean
Chemical System Clean
Revlube Oil & Filter Service
High Flow Exhaust Installation
This wasn’t just a “flash and go” job. It was a full health reset combined with proper performance calibration.
Dyno Results – Before vs After
Before (Previous Tune):162.6kW373.5Nm
After (REVHIGH Custom Tune):192.6kW392.1Nm
That’s an increase of:
+30kW peak power
+18.6Nm peak torque
Approx. +40HP at the wheels
Approx. +55HP at the engine
+80Nm improvement across the usable torque range
More importantly, the power delivery is now smoother, stronger, and consistent throughout the rev range.
