This 1998 Nissan Patrol LPG came into the workshop with a clear drivability concern — the engine was unable to rev beyond 3000RPM, significantly limiting performance and overall usability.
Initial assessment indicated the need for a thorough inspection of the vehicle’s condition and LPG system setup.

Diagnosis & Work Carried Out
To address the issue, we performed a comprehensive health check to identify any underlying faults affecting engine performance. Following this, attention was turned to the LPG system, where adjustments were made to ensure correct fuel delivery and operation.
Proper calibration of the LPG setup is critical, especially in older vehicles, as incorrect fueling can lead to restricted performance, poor throttle response, and limited engine range — exactly what this Patrol was experiencing.

Dyno Results
After completing the required work and tuning, the vehicle was tested on the dyno to measure the improvements:
Before:• 66.1kW @ wheels• 396.6Nm
After:• 90.1kW @ wheels• 386.4Nm
This resulted in a gain of nearly +40kW at the wheels, a significant improvement that transformed the vehicle’s performance and drivability.

Outcome
With the LPG system correctly dialled in and the vehicle confirmed healthy, this Nissan Patrol is now operating as intended — delivering smoother power, improved response, and the ability to rev freely through the range.
For LPG-equipped vehicles, proper setup and tuning play a crucial role in maintaining performance. If your vehicle is experiencing similar issues, a professional inspection and calibration can make a substantial difference.
