2020 Mercedes-Benz E63S V8 – Dyno Tune Only Transformation

When it comes to modern performance sedans, the Mercedes-AMG E63S sits at the top of the food chain. A twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8, all-wheel drive traction, and factory performance that already pushes supercar territory.

But as we’ve seen time and time again — there’s always more left on the table.

This particular 2020 E63S came into the workshop completely stock. No bolt-ons. No hardware changes. No CPC module upgrade.

Just a proper dyno calibration.

And the results speak for themselves.

Baseline Dyno Results (Stock)

Before making any changes, we always establish a true baseline.

Power: 371.8 kWTorque: 801.3 Nm

Strong numbers from factory — exactly what you expect from AMG engineering.

After Custom Dyno Tune

With a carefully developed dyno tune and recalibration of boost, ignition, torque mapping, and throttle strategy:

Power: 455.6 kWTorque: 945.0 Nm

Gains:

+83.8 kW+143.7 Nm

That is a serious increase — especially considering this was achieved without upgrading the CPC module.

What Makes the Difference?

Modern AMG platforms are heavily torque-managed from factory. While they deliver impressive numbers, there are conservative safety and drivability limits programmed into the ECU.

A proper dyno tune allows us to:

  • Optimize boost control

  • Refine ignition timing

  • Improve torque request mapping

  • Enhance throttle response

  • Smooth power delivery across the rev range

The result isn’t just peak power — it’s a much stronger mid-range surge and a sharper, more responsive driving experience.

No CPC Module Upgrade – Yet

For those familiar with the platform, the CPC module upgrade can unlock even more potential.

But what makes this result impressive is that these gains were achieved without it.

This is a true “software-only” performance upgrade.

The Real-World Difference

On the road, the difference is dramatic:

  • Harder acceleration from low RPM

  • Stronger mid-range pull

  • More aggressive top-end charge

  • Improved throttle sensitivity

The E63S already feels quick from factory — but tuned properly, it becomes a completely different animal.

Thinking About Tuning Your AMG?

If you’re running a Mercedes-AMG and want to safely unlock more power, a proper dyno tune is the foundation. Every vehicle is tested, monitored, and calibrated individually to ensure safe and consistent performance.
