Holden VE V8 Ute Gets Full Revhigh Exhaust & Intake Upgrade

When it comes to unlocking the true potential of a Holden V8, airflow is everything. Kevin brought his VE V8 Ute into Revhigh looking to wake the car up and improve overall performance, throttle response and drivability.
The solution? A complete breathing upgrade paired with our custom tuning package.
The Upgrade Package
To maximise performance, we installed a combination of proven bolt-ons designed to improve airflow from intake to exhaust.
The setup included:
REV Headers
Heatshield Design
3” Catback Exhaust System
VCM Cold Air Intake
ECU Custom Tuning
TCU Transmission Tuning
This combination allows the engine to breathe significantly better, reducing restriction while improving torque delivery across the rev range.
Dyno Results – Before and After
Before the upgrade, Kevin’s VE Ute produced:
229.5kW at 4992 RPM
532.6Nm at 3732 RPM
After the full Revhigh package and custom tuning, the results improved to:
270.6kW at 5096 RPM
585.4Nm at 4186 RPM
That’s a gain of +41kW and +53Nm, with improvements felt throughout the entire powerband.

What Makes the Difference?
Each component plays an important role in the final result.
REV Headers
Our headers help improve exhaust flow straight from the engine, allowing the V8 to evacuate gases more efficiently. This improves both horsepower and torque while enhancing the exhaust note.
Heatshield Design
Managing heat under the bonnet is critical. Our heatshield setup helps protect intake temperatures, ensuring the engine receives cooler, denser air.
3” Catback Exhaust
The larger diameter exhaust reduces back pressure and complements the headers perfectly, allowing the engine to flow more freely.
VCM Cold Air Intake
The VCM intake improves airflow into the engine while maintaining excellent reliability and filtration.
ECU & TCU Custom Tuning
Hardware upgrades reach their full potential with proper calibration. Our custom ECU and transmission tuning ensures the engine, throttle response and gearbox all work together to deliver smoother and stronger performance.
The Final Result
Kevin’s VE Ute left Revhigh with:
Noticeably stronger acceleration
Improved throttle response
Smoother power delivery
A much more aggressive V8 exhaust note
The dyno graph clearly shows the gains across the entire rev range, making the ute more enjoyable to drive both on the street and under load.
